Hey HN, long time lurker first time poster. I built a social network called PIECES. After building a private blog last year after I had to get off IG and Substack, I decided to productize it. It's here now. It has a dedicated web experience + iOS/Android.Would love if you tried it out!

Video editors frequently need quick, professional text styles, animations, and presets for tools like CapCut or Premiere but struggle to create them from scratch or find suitable free/paid options, leading to time loss; explicit willingness to pay for high-quality presets as shown by direct offers.

## Summary When using Claude Desktop on Windows with the embedded Claude Code feature, allow configuring it to execute shell commands inside WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) instead of Windows CMD/PowerShell. ## Environment - **Claude Desktop Version:** 1.0.1307 (1ed883) 2025-11-25 - **OS:** Windows 11 with WSL2 (Ubuntu) - **Claude Code:** Embedded in Claude Desktop ## Use Case My entire development environment is set up in WSL: - Python virtualenvs - Node.js / npm - MySQL server - Local dev servers (PHP, Python HTTP server, etc.) - Git configuration - All projects stored in WSL filesystem I want to use Claude Desktop's improved UI and longer context window, but when it executes commands, they run in Windows where none of my tools are configured. ## Current Behavior Claude Desktop with embedded Claude Code executes all bash/shell commands in Windows environment, which doesn't have access to: - WSL-installed packages - Linux-only tools - My development servers running in WSL - Proper file permissions ## Expected Behavior Option to configure Claude Desktop to: 1. Execute shell commands inside a specified WSL distro (e.g., Ubuntu) 2. Use WSL paths natively (e.g., `/home/user/project` instead of `\\wsl$\...`) 3. Access WSL environment variables and tools ## Similar Implementation VS Code solves this elegantly with "Remote - WSL" extension - the UI runs on Windows but all terminal commands, extensions, and file operations happen inside WSL. ## Workaround (Current) Running Claude Code CLI directly inside WSL terminal works perfectly, but loses the benefits of Claude Desktop's UI and extended context. ## Additional Context Many developers on Windows use WSL as their primary development environment while preferring native Windows apps for UI. This integration would make Claude Desktop viable for this common workflow.

Hello ASP.NET & MAUI Team! @danroth27, @davidortinau, @Eilon Now that Blazor Hybrid has gone through a good stabilization and performance release with .NET 7, I'd like to put a request in to consider Blazor Hybrid support on Linux with Ubuntu. The Edge browser for Linux has been released and stabilized for about a year now. For our usages, we're standardizing on the Blazor Hybrid/MAUI "One code base and one UI layer" vision by taking our large desktop WPF application first to a SaaS Blazor WASM application then deliver that same application on Mobile (iOS/Android), then onto the native desktop application on Windows and we know already we need to get to smaller footprint/panel devices which run Linux. We need the smallest memory/CPU profile possible on these Linux devices, so we'd far prefer to run the .NET business logic code natively on the device instead of running that on WASM.

I don't know Rust.Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that.So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well.I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.

The overall idea is to chart out the thousands of Mini PCs by benchmark and reveal the Pareto Front so you can get the most Compute per Dollar. Definitely a labor of love as I have a number of Mini PCs for my "homelab" (TrueNAS, piHole, Plex, basic stuff). It uses Gemini to extract specs from listings (since they're not often strongly categorized).Quick blog post here: https://luke.zip/posts/pareto-pcs/

I was frustated by having to draw system design diagrams by hand when discussing it with my team mates or in an interview. So I thought "Wouldn't it be great if someone draws it for me, while I think out loud?".That is when I came up with VoiceDraw. You can just think out loud or discuss your system architecture with a friend/interviewer, the diagrams are automatically drawn along with your reasoning, open questions and tradeoffs beautifully written on to the side.Demo Video: https://youtu.be/36PgHKSuccE
