Allow crypto payouts
### Feature request ## Is your feature request related to a problem? Many entrepreneurs suffer from restrictions with international banking options. It would be great to have this option, it will increase polar.sh revenue opening to a wider market. It will help solo developers and small teams. This would be awesome because now developers can have subscriptions without the need of using shady crypto payments gateways that don’t even support recurring payments. ## Describe the solution you'd like Give the option to widthdrawl funds with crypto (stablecoins preferred). I have read that stripe is already doing this with some businesses. You could charge a small fee for the conversion. I would totally pay for this. Do more KYC for this option and add limits that can be increased over time to avoid fraudulent use of the service. ## Describe alternatives you've considered I wanted to try stripes stablecoins payouts but I don’t think I will get approved since i don’t own a really big company.

Build angle
Strengths
- Extremely real and severe pain point for a clear audience.
- Clear signals of willingness to pay for a better solution.
- The market for stablecoin payouts is rapidly expanding.
- Solves a critical issue for international remote work and creators.
- Building experience in fintech/blockchain has high compound value.
Risks
- High regulatory and compliance hurdles (KYC/AML, licensing) for a solo builder.
- Crowded market with heavily funded incumbents and Big Tech.
- Significant technical complexity in integrating blockchain, fiat on/off ramps, and security.
- Distribution challenges; securing integrations with platforms may be difficult.
- Long time-to-market for a fully compliant, robust solution.
Next steps
- Conduct in-depth interviews with 20-30 solo developers/small teams about their exact payout pain points, current workarounds, and ideal fee structures.
- Research specific regulatory requirements for crypto payouts in target initial regions/countries (e.g., Europe, specific Asian countries) for a solo entity.
- Explore partnerships with existing payment infrastructure providers (e.g., Circle, Stellar, specific crypto exchanges) for white-label solutions or API access to mitigate build complexity.
- Validate the narrowest viable product (MVP) angle: e.g., 'Recurring USDC payouts for Notion freelancers in Eastern Europe via an X platform integration'.
- Develop a detailed compliance roadmap before writing significant code.

The problem is real, severe, and people would pay for a better solution, especially for solo developers needing international stablecoin payouts. However, the regulatory and technical complexity for a solo builder is extremely high, making it a challenging project to ship quickly.
Value Equation
Dream outcome and how likely it feels, against the time and effort it costs.
This idea addresses a high-pain, high-purchasing power market with clear signals for payment, but faces significant build complexity and incumbent competition.
One-Person Business
Curiosity pull, identity fit, and a path from free value to paid for a solo creator.
While the problem is clear and monetizable, the complexity of building and maintaining a compliant financial service makes it challenging for a single individual.
Viral Frameworks
Hook strength, shareability, and how cheaply it can be tested.
The idea targets a specific, reachable audience with a clear value prop and monetisation, but carries high assumption risk around regulatory compliance and distribution channels against strong incumbents.
Builder Lens
Evidence the problem exists, timing, defensibility, and a model that fits on a napkin.
There's strong demand and a clear problem with current solutions for a specific, desperate user. The future outlook is positive, but the narrowest wedge for a solo builder needs careful definition to manage complexity.

BreezePDF – Free, in-browser PDF editor
BreezePDF lets you edit, sign, merge, compress, redact, OCR, fill forms, extract tables, and use 30+ more PDF tools — all in the browser, no sign-up. Files never leave your computer.I built it because when people search Google for common PDF tasks, many of the tools they find upload documents to a server. I wanted an option that keeps files local instead.I posted an earlier version on HN last spring: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43880962At the time it only supported a small set of features. Over the last 10 months I rebuilt large parts of it and expanded it to nearly 40 tools, including several ideas that came from comments in that earlier thread. There is also now a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux, plus a CLI/SDK for developers.
