Flipflop – Iroh-powered persistent tunnels for filesharing
This is a project that spun from my frustrations of using LocalSend and DashBeam to transfer stuff between devices, and with the extra goal of being fast, trying out the Slint framework and, most importantly, establishing a communication channel with trusted external people that can be left always on.

Strengths
- Clear technical differentiation with persistent tunnels
- Focus on trusted external sharing, not just local
- Leverages modern frameworks for UI and networking
- Feasible for a solo developer to build and iterate
Risks
- Unclear willingness to pay or monetize
- Competition from established file-sharing tools
- Potential network effects needed for adoption
- Niche market limits scale and growth potential

The problem of slow or unreliable file transfer between devices and trusted contacts is clear, but the market gap and willingness to pay are moderate, while the project is feasible for a solo developer.
Value Equation
Dream outcome and how likely it feels, against the time and effort it costs.
The value to users is moderate given existing alternatives, the price sensitivity is unclear, and the ease of adoption depends on network effects and trust, limiting immediate growth potential.
One-Person Business
Curiosity pull, identity fit, and a path from free value to paid for a solo creator.
The idea addresses a real pain point with a technical edge, but the competitive landscape and unclear monetization reduce its overall attractiveness.
Viral Frameworks
Hook strength, shareability, and how cheaply it can be tested.
The concept fits a niche developer tool market with some differentiation, but the lack of a clear business model and uncertain demand lower the score.
Builder Lens
Evidence the problem exists, timing, defensibility, and a model that fits on a napkin.
The project has potential as a developer tool with a technical moat, but it needs clearer validation of user demand and a scalable growth path.

BreezePDF – Free, in-browser PDF editor
BreezePDF lets you edit, sign, merge, compress, redact, OCR, fill forms, extract tables, and use 30+ more PDF tools — all in the browser, no sign-up. Files never leave your computer.I built it because when people search Google for common PDF tasks, many of the tools they find upload documents to a server. I wanted an option that keeps files local instead.I posted an earlier version on HN last spring: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43880962At the time it only supported a small set of features. Over the last 10 months I rebuilt large parts of it and expanded it to nearly 40 tools, including several ideas that came from comments in that earlier thread. There is also now a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux, plus a CLI/SDK for developers.
