automatic reload when file changes externally
It would be great if it were detected when the file you are editing has been changed externally, and if possible, automatically reload the file. I imagine it could work similarly to vim and kakoune, i.e. if there are no modifications that have yet to be written, just reload the file, and treat it as a single modification that can be undone. If there are modifications that haven't been written yet, prompt the user about what they would like to do: * Ignore the changes, keep that's in the editor buffer, and let a write happen over the external change, whatever it was * Reload the file anyway, essentially "adding" to the unsaved changes

The problem of external file changes causing confusion is clear, but the solution is partially addressed by existing editors, limiting willingness to pay despite easy buildability.
Value Equation
Dream outcome and how likely it feels, against the time and effort it costs.
The idea addresses a real pain point for developers but lacks a strong monetization path and faces competition from existing editor features.
One-Person Business
Curiosity pull, identity fit, and a path from free value to paid for a solo creator.
The concept solves a niche but common developer annoyance, though the market size and differentiation are limited.
Viral Frameworks
Hook strength, shareability, and how cheaply it can be tested.
The idea is technically feasible and useful but may not create significant user growth or revenue without integration into larger platforms.
Builder Lens
Evidence the problem exists, timing, defensibility, and a model that fits on a napkin.
The problem is valid but the solution is incremental and unlikely to attract paying customers or large user bases on its own.
