Hey everyone, long-time lurker here. I work in marketing at a mid-sized e-commerce company (\~30k contacts, selling home goods) and we've finally hit the wall with Mailchimp. The automation is too limited for what we need and the pricing keeps creeping up without us getting much more value. Our main use cases are: * Abandoned cart sequences * Post-purchase flows * Occasional SMS blasts to our best customers * Segmenting by purchase behavior (frequency, AOV and product category) I've been going down a rabbit hole this week and narrowed it down to three platforms. Here's where my head is at so far: **Campaigner** \- honestly this one flew under my radar until recently. Looks like it's been around forever (20+ years?) and the automation workflows and segmentation seem genuinely advanced. The UI looks a bit dated from the screenshots though? Has anyone actually used it for e-commerce or is it more of a B2B email tool? **Klaviyo** \- everyone in e-commerce seems to swear by it. The Shopify integration looks seamless and the segmentation is clearly best-in-class. But pricing scales fast once you're past 25k contacts and I've seen some complaints about it getting expensive quickly. Is it actually worth it at our size or is it more for larger DTC brands? **Omnisend** \- pricing seems more reasonable and the email + SMS combo looks solid. A few people on here mentioned it's easier to set up than Klaviyo. Wondering if there's a meaningful feature gap though or if that reputation is outdated. We're a small team (just me and one other person managing campaigns) so ease of use matters but we're not beginners. We can handle a learning curve if the features justify it. Budget is flexible but ideally staying under $300/month to start. Has anyone switched away from Mailchimp to any of these? What do you use?

Fly Labs Method
Is the pain real, is there a gap, is it the right time, can one person build it.
High pain and willingness to pay, but the solution space is extremely competitive and the build complexity is far beyond a solo builder's capacity.
Value Equation
Dream outcome and how likely it feels, against the time and effort it costs.
High market demand but extremely low feasibility and differentiation potential for a solo founder against established players.
One-Person Business
Curiosity pull, identity fit, and a path from free value to paid for a solo creator.
While the problem is clear and monetization is possible, the project is too complex and competitive for a solo founder with low creator fit and leverage.
Viral Frameworks
Hook strength, shareability, and how cheaply it can be tested.
Good business model but high risk and low feasibility for a solo founder to build a competitive product with effective distribution.
Builder Lens
Evidence the problem exists, timing, defensibility, and a model that fits on a napkin.
Strong problem, but the proposed solution space is too competitive and complex for a narrow, defensible wedge by a solo founder.

Market signals
The e-commerce email marketing automation market is large and growing, driven by the need for advanced segmentation, personalization, and multi-channel capabilities. Many businesses are moving away from general-purpose email tools like Mailchimp towards specialized platforms that offer deeper e-commerce integrations and more robust automation. Recent funding rounds and IPOs (like Klaviyo's) indicate significant investor interest and a dynamic, competitive landscape.
