Are others seeing Google's reCAPTCHA rejecting Firefox users?

Infinite Google ReCAPCHA loop trying to access archive.is using current Firefox from Linux. Just started today. Firefox is in "strict" mode. Disabled Privacy Badger for that site, and it didn't help. Tried private browsing, and it didn't help.Is this part of Google's war against ad-blocking and non-Chrome browsers?

A complaint about Google reCAPTCHA blocking Firefox users, framed as a potential business opportunity.

The pain

Users with Firefox in strict privacy mode experience infinite reCAPTCHA loops on certain sites like archive.is, blocking access entirely. This creates genuine friction for privacy-conscious users.

The gap

This is a symptom, not a business problem. The root cause is either: (1) Google's reCAPTCHA legitimately detecting bot-like behavior from privacy tools, (2) archive.is configuration issues, or (3) actual incompatibility. No clear market opportunity exists here.

Build angle

Could theoretically build a reCAPTCHA alternative or Firefox extension to bypass/solve this. But this addresses a technical glitch, not a repeatable business model. The addressable market is small (Firefox + strict mode + archive.is users) and the solution would either violate Google's ToS or become obsolete when Google fixes the bug.

Strengths

  • Real user frustration exists in a specific segment
  • Privacy-focused audience is growing
  • Could generate initial traction among Firefox advocates

Risks

  • This is likely a temporary technical issue, not a structural problem requiring a business solution
  • Building around reCAPTCHA alternatives invites legal/ToS conflicts with Google
  • Market is too narrow (specific browser + specific privacy settings + specific sites)
  • No clear monetization path that doesn't violate platform policies
  • Google will fix the underlying issue, eliminating the problem
  • Confuses a bug report with a business opportunity
