Pagecast – Publish Markdown/HTML Reports to Cloudflare Pages

I built this because I kept generating HTML/Markdown reports from Claude Code/Codex and needed a permanent share link instead of a localhost tunnel. Pagecast is a local CLI that publishes those files to your own Cloudflare Pages account. It supports Markdown and HTML, stable URLs, renaming, republishing to the same URL, and watch mode for continuous updates to same file. It is MIT licensed. The main design choice is that there is no hosted Pagecast account. It uses your Cloudflare account and deploys there directly and has claude code and codex integrations as skill/hooks.Basically it can be used as a replacement for codex sites or claude artifacts

Competition

Trend

No signal yet

A CLI tool that publishes AI-generated reports directly to Cloudflare Pages, eliminating the need for temporary share links or hosted services.

The pain

Developers and AI users generate HTML/Markdown reports from Claude and similar tools but lack a quick way to create permanent, shareable URLs without setting up hosting infrastructure or relying on temporary tunnels that expire.

The gap

Existing solutions require either hosting accounts (GitHub Pages, Vercel), manual deployment steps, or temporary link services. No tool directly bridges AI code generation to persistent web publishing with a single command.

Build angle

Start by validating whether the target user (AI-assisted developers) actually needs persistent URLs for reports or if they're satisfied with artifacts/temporary links. If validated, focus on the Claude/Codex integration as the primary distribution channel rather than standalone CLI adoption. Consider whether Cloudflare Pages is the right backend or if simplicity matters more than cost.

Strengths

  • Solves a real friction point in the AI-assisted development workflow
  • Leverages existing Cloudflare account (no new vendor lock-in)
  • MIT licensed removes adoption friction
  • Watch mode and republishing to same URL are genuinely useful features
  • Direct integration with Claude Code/Codex is a smart distribution strategy

Risks

  • Market size unclear, how many people actually need persistent report URLs vs. using artifacts?
  • Requires users to have Cloudflare account and understand authentication setup
  • Competing against free alternatives (GitHub Pages, Vercel, Netlify) that are easier for non-technical users
  • Claude/Codex integration depends on third-party platform decisions outside your control
  • No clear monetization path if it remains free and open-source
  • Adoption likely capped at technical users who already use Cloudflare
